I Am Interning At Center For American Progress - 1053 Words

I am interning at Center for American Progress, which is a progressive policy think tank, under their Women’s Health and Rights program. My main focus will be researching policy related to women’s health care and reproductive justice. Through this internship, I hope to gain hands on experience with policy and research related to women’s rights, and learn how this can actually make a difference in the status of women in the United States. Just from my first two days, I can tell I am going to have to learn how to research efficiently and effectively if I want to go into this field. I have never done very rigorous research, so this will be a great learning experience for me. I have also already learned a lot more about health care policy for women in the United States from my research, so I hope to gain a decent amount of knowledge on that subject during my time here. Professionally, I hope to make connections with not only my supervisors and co-workers in the Women ’s Health and Rights department, but also people from other departments of the organization, such as the Economics department and LGBT department. That way my connections will not be isolated to just one field of study. 2.
